De-Risk Your EDA.
Scale with Confidence.

Workshops for architects and technical leaders designed to implement the governance and tooling required for a successful, scalable event-driven architecture.

David Boyne

👋 Hi, I'm David Boyne, the founder and core maintainer of EventCatalog. With over 15 years of experience in distributed systems, I fell in love with the power and potential of event-driven architectures.

I've spent the last 8 years doing a deep-dive into the EDA ecosystem, contributing to projects like AsyncAPI, working and advocating for EDA best practices at AWS, authored EDA Visuals, and now, I focus full-time on helping organizations around the world solve their most complex governance challenges.

I'm passionate about sharing what I've learned from speaking at conferences and working with diverse teams. My goal is to save your organization time and money by helping you build scalable, well-governed event-driven systems.

Workshops

I offer a number of workshops related to event-driven architecture governance and EventCatalog. Workshops are usually run privately for your team/organisation.

The pricing model for in-person workshops is a flat fee based upon location, inclusive of travel and accomodation, rather than a fee "per attendee". The recommended number of attendees is between 10 and 20, but there is no class size limit. From a logistics point of view, all we need is a room with a projector/large TV (with a HDMI connector) and some whiteboards/flip chart paper plus marker pens for the hands-on exercises. Laptops are required for hands-on workshops, and the timings are flexible.

Workshops can be run fully-remote, or as a hybrid in-person/remote workshop. Please contact hello@eventcatalog.dev for further details, or to book.

Workshops

These workshops are designed for teams at different stages of their event-driven architecture journey. I offer two full-day workshops that can be tailored to your needs.

  • Event-Driven Architecture Governance Foundations
    • For teams implementing event-driven architecture who need to establish fundamental governance.
  • Mastering EventCatalog
    • For teams that want to master EventCatalog and its best practices.

I can also create a hybrid workshop, combining elements from both to create a custom agenda that best suits your team's goals.

Event-Driven Architecture Governance Foundations (Full Day)

This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to the principles and practices of effective governance in event-driven systems. We dive into the importance of EDA governance, common mistakes, and the core pillars of governance like schema evolution, discoverability, and standards. You'll leave with a defined governance manifest and actionable steps to improve your strategy.
